Located near Palo Alto College, just off of Poteet Jourdanton Freeway, the Cortez serves San Antonio's southern community. The library's collection includes 58,757 volumes including videos, music CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks.

Texas Public Radio, along with its community partners, xeriscaped the sparsely planted grounds surrounding the facility, creating a vibrant natural oasis that reflected the variety of plantlife native the area. Volunteers also constructed an irrigation system that was designed to minimize water usage.
