April 16, 2008

Becoming Jane
The studio pitch could have been "It's like Shakespeare in Love, but without the jokes!"  Becoming Jane takes a minor flirtation from the early life of author Jane Austen and imagines a scenario that might of inspired her novel Pride and Prejudice.  Texas Public Radio's Nathan Cone has a review of the DVD here. March 27, 2008

  Death Proof
“A terror so fierce, it’ll tear you in two!” was the tag line that accompanied theatrical showings of Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof earlier this year, when they were double-billed as Grindhouse.  Now, the two films really have been split for their respective DVD releases.  Texas Public Radio’s Nathan Cone thinks Death Proof is the better of the two releases.  October 1, 2007
