December 10, 2010 · Wendy Warner and Irina Nuzova are visiting San Antonio for Musical Bridges Around The World. The cello-piano duo recently released an album of Russian Duets on the Cedille label.
Wendy Warner, hailed by Strings magazine for her “youthful, surging playing, natural stage presence and almost frightening technique,” has become one of the world’s leading cellists.
According to the Washington Post, Irina Nuzova "rises above mere virtuosity" in her thoughtful rendition of the classical repertoire both as a soloist and as chamber music partner.
Warner and Nuzova met up with KPAC host John Clare to discuss music, how they met and perform Miaskovsky, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin.
