2013 Salute To Business Supporters

On Thursday, June 6, Texas Public Radio hosted a reception for business and nonprofit supporters at the home of Board Member James Lifshutz, a longtime supporter and friend of TPR.

Guests were greeted by the TPR underwriting and traffic staff, lovely music by harpist Nelda Etheridge and the resident peacock.

Refreshments were provided by Mike Bomberg's Spice of Life catering and Vinously Speaking.

Architects from Ford, Powell & Carson gave a brief presentation about architect O'Neil Ford, the house, and Ford's other architectural contributions.

Denise and Jim Schneider volunteer their time during pledge drives. Jim takes calls from new and renewing members, and Denise helps with data entry.

Without volunteers like the Schneiders, pledge drive would be a much more daunting task. The Schneiders, and others like them, make it fun and efficient.

KTXI 90.1 FM lost its audio feed on Saturday morning and remains off the air at this time.

The power supply in the far end of the Studio Transmitter Link (STL) system failed, which is the link that has carried program audio over a T1 telephone circuit for the last 15 years.

Beginning April 1, KSTX 89.1 FM, San Antonio’s NPR affiliate, will for the first time launch a live, listener call-in talk show. "The Source," Texas Public Radio’s award-winning program that captures the pulse of San Antonio, has been a part of the weekly KSTX lineup since January 2010.
