Fiesta Commission http://tpr.org en 2014 Fiesta Gets An Extra Week, For Religious Reasons http://tpr.org/post/2014-fiesta-gets-extra-week-religious-reasons
San Antonio likes to party, but residents also observe and respect religious tradition. Because of that, the city council has approved an amendment to next year's Fiesta celebration, which will run from April 10-27, instead of April 19-27.

The party will last a little longer, but the new dates provide a revision to the regular flow of Fiesta events to respect Holy Week. The amendment will allow Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter, which are April 17, 18 and 20, to be observed without the distraction of parties like Fiesta Fiesta, Oyster Bake, and the Taste of New Orleans.
Thu, 07 Nov 2013 22:12:00 +0000 Ryan Loyd 21553 at http://tpr.org 2014 Fiesta Gets An Extra Week, For Religious Reasons See San Antonio History At The Institute Of Texan Culture's Fiesta Medal Mania http://tpr.org/post/see-san-antonio-history-institute-texan-cultures-fiesta-medal-mania
A new exhibit is on display at the Institute of Texan Cultures showcasing 1,200 Fiesta medals from years past, well ahead of this year's Fiesta celebration.

Call it a 'living history' of a beloved pastime for San Antonio's Fiesta celebration, Fiesta Medal Mania is a new partnership between the Fiesta Commission and UTSA.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 20:26:56 +0000 Ryan Loyd 8255 at http://tpr.org See San Antonio History At The Institute Of Texan Culture's Fiesta Medal Mania Fiesta 2013 Poster 'Celebrates Culture, History and Spirit' of Event http://tpr.org/post/fiesta-2013-poster-celebrates-culture-history-and-spirit-event

It's only November, but Fiesta is already kicking off.
