As the state legislative session rolls on, water is never far off the agenda. State Representative Lyle Larson from San Antonio says water will be his priority as acting chair of the Texas House Natural Resources Committee.

Proposed plans to develop a nuclear waste disposal site in Andrews County along the Texas-New Mexico border have gotten the attention of Bexar County.

There are concerns that some high-level radioactive waste would be transported through this area on trains.  Not only can accidents happen, but there’s also the threat of terrorist attacks.

Tom ‘Smitty’ Smith, the former director of Public Citizen Texas, addressed Bexar County Commissioners Court on Tuesday.

As people pick-up the pieces of their homes following Sunday’s tornadoes, City officials are assessing the damage across San Antonio as a fifth tornado is confirmed to have touched down in the area. Three touched down inside Bexar County. A fourth in Comal County near Garden Ridge, and fifth in Guadalupe County south of Seguin.  Hundreds still remain without power.  

The City of San Antonio has created several avenues to help resident’s recover from the destruction.

U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks ruled Tuesday afternoon that Texas clinics affiliated with Planned Parenthood can continue to care for patients under the state’s Medicaid program, a phew-worthy victory for reproductive rights advocates and a loss for the state's GOP leaders.
