If you’re planning a trip to Mexico, Greyhound can be one of your transportation options. The bus company has just started providing service to Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey.

It’s a first for Greyhound.  Up until now they contracted with other bus companies in Mexico for the past 50 years.

Passengers have consistently asked when they could ride to Mexico, according to Greyhound President and CEO Dave Leach. So they started the effort three years ago.

They now have a terminal in Nuevo Laredo and a another in Monterrey.

There’s a city event that gives young filmmakers a theatrical outlet for their efforts.  Department of Culture and Creative Development's Film Commission Director Drew Mayer-Oakes talked about the July 22 event with TPR's Jack Morgan.

“The City Block Cinema event this year is happening at the historic Guadalupe Theater, which we really love to show films there, because the staff is so wonderful and it’s a great movie-viewing experience.  We start at 6 o’clock with networking, and we get the show rolling at 7:30.”

As the nation is reexamining how to best remember the Confederacy and find more appropriate locations for its monuments and icons, the Bexar County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to remove two Confederate markers from county property.

In front of the Bexar County Courthouse and in the shadow of the San Fernando Cathedral’s bell tower was where a 1936 historic marker was seated. It read “Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway – Dedicated to the soldiers of the Confederacy.”

South Texas Jazz lovers probably know about Primetime Jazz Orchestra led by John Magaldi. He’s one of those band leaders who spreads around the praise to the other members of his band.

"I don’t have ‘leader-itus,’ he quipped during a recent interview with Texas Public Radio.

“ I kick off the tempos and so forth, but the band is made up of some of the best musicians in the country."
