Hotline Established for Air Force Trainees to Report Sexual Misconduct

There are 20 military training instructors are now under investigation for inappropriate relationships with trainees at Joint Base San Antonio; five have already been court-martialed. This week, the Air Force set up a special hotline for trainees and others to report cases of sexual abuse.

Berlioz and beyond: Sebastian Lang-Lessing returns to the podium

After a busy summer that included concerts in Italy, South Africa, New Zealand, and a recording with Renee Fleming, Sebastian Lang-Lessing leads his first concert of the season.

"It's the most exciting concert!" said Lang-Lessing. "Of course, I'm going to say that about every concert."

The varied program includes violinist Baiba Skride in Robert Schumann's Concerto in d minor.

"Baiba and I were to have performed several times, and it has just never worked out, so I am very excited to have her solo in San Antonio, in one of the most dramatic works."

Holiday Events Give Residents New Vision of Hemisfair Park

So far, the redevelopment of Hemisfair has been mostly on paper, but planners are working to pull the park’s future into focus for residents. Officials are hoping holiday events starting on Halloween will bring families back to to the park.

Terraced Seating Unveiled at Dignowity Pushcart Derby!

The terraced seating being built on the old volleyball courts at Lockwood Park is in prime position for pushcart viewing and will be the centerpiece for fireworks watching and other community gatherings in the future for the Dignowity neighborhood.

Texas Public Radio presents the official unveiling of this winning design in the Lighter! Quicker! Cheaper! initiative in partnership with the City of San Antonio, the Project for Public Spaces and the AIA San Antonio.

Texas House District 117 (in blue) is among the most rapidly growing parts of Bexar County. It encompasses the far west and south west portions of Bexar County.

Incumbent John Garza and challenger Philip Cortez are divided on the role and effectiveness of education in their district. Cortez says that quality public education is the key to getting the district's residents on the road to success, and Garza says that state programs do not work and a voucher system would be the best way to make education stronger.

Scientists Resign from Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas

Some of the scientists with the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas have resigned, with one warning that the $3 billion taxpayer-funded agency is headed down a path of systematic abuse.

Texas is home to the country’s second largest cancer-research fund, which is the largest of any state. The only entity funded at a higher level is the federal National Institutes of Health. C-PRIT has awarded almost $700 million in grants in the past three years.

Special guest artists will include the San Antonio Brass, strings, and the choirs from First Presbyterian Church and St. Paul's Episcopal Church to culminate in a performance of nearly 150 musicians.

Truck Made in San Antonio Pulls Space Shuttle Endeavor to California Science Center

Toyota team members in San Antonio handed out postcards to commemorate the Tundra pull of Space Shuttle Endeavor.

Team Toyota members in San Antonio are making history, along with Space Shuttle Endeavor. On Friday, a Toyota Tundra truck made in the Alamo City will pull the 96-ton shuttle to its final resting place at the California Science Center.

The Tundra will pull the shuttle a quarter of a mile across the 405 Freeway on West Manchester Boulevard through the streets of Los Angeles.
