Revolution Makes Me Come

Laura Rios performs a traditional Matachin song at the closing of Jane Madrigal's exhibit, Journey to the Underworld and Other Forbidden Places before the End of Time, which was on display at Bihl Haus Arts from November 2012 through January 2013.

The installation featured a temple to Coyolxauhqui, goddess of the moon, and artworks dedicated to other indigenous feminine deities revered before the conquest.  These works honor the ancient belief that held sacred the feminine principle and equated it with spiritual power and reverence.

Cuarteto Latinoamericano

In many ways, KPAC and the Cuarteto Latinoamericano have lived parallel lives over the past 30 years. San Antonio's cultural profile would be quite different today if not for KPAC's dedication to providing great music around the clock for the greater San Antonio area. For these same three decades, the Latin American String Quartet has emerged as the essential champion of Latin American music for string quartet. Long may both these cultural institutions survive.

Tracing The Culprit When Fracking Pollutes Water Supplies

Lead in text:
Several research teams have developed techniques like adding tiny fragments of rust (iron oxide) or synthetic DNA to the drilling fluid to make it easier to identify what drilling rig is responsible for contamination. This practice could help produce hard evidence in cases that are brought to court over natural gas drilling practices.
Scientists are developing ways to add non-toxic tracers to drilling fluid so if groundwater is contaminated, investigators would be able to pinpoint if an oil or gas drilling operation was to blame.

Restaurateur First To Integrate In San Antonio Desegregation Movement

In 1963, Dan Anthony bought his father’s Manhattan Café downtown on Houston Street, near the Majestic Theatre. It was that same year when Anthony’s wife, Chrissy, says a priest and activist by the name of Father Sherrill Smith called Dan with an important message.
