2014 Salute To Business Supporters

On Thursday, May 22, about 200 TPR business members and underwriters turned out for the Salute to Business Supporters at The Veranda. Held annually, the event is an opportunity for Texas Public Radio to show appreciation for the support of the business and non-profit community and allows these partners to network with each other while enjoying great food in a beautiful location.

The Veranda is a recently renovated estate in Castle Hills, home to Spice of Life Catering. The grounds include a pavilion, a courtyard, a pond and two buildings well-suited to hosting events of any size. Classical guitarist George Gaytan set the scene with lovely music. Floral arrangements by Creative Floral Designs by Helene that decorated the tables were given away as door prizes, and two guests also won TPR gift baskets in the drawing.

The event was sponsored by The Bank of San Antonio, St. Mary's University Office of Communicationsand Texas Mutual Insurance Company.

Carin Lamontagne joined the Texas Public Radio team in October 2012. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in 1996 with a B.A. in history, and she also studied anthropology and vocal music performance.
