Voters headed to the polls on March 6 may cite the economy as a main motivator behind their choices. What policy priorities are on the minds of business leaders fueling the state's economy?
Members of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, along with five other major cities, took part in a13-questionsurveylooking into Texas-specific business trends ahead of the 2018 primary elections.
While 84 percent agree that the Texas economy is headed in the "right direction," business leaders are not as confident about education and infrastructure, and would like to see more state investment.
Almost 25 percent of all private companies surveyed indicated that employment and labor issues are "Texas' greatest barrier" to employee attraction and retention.
Can the so-called "bathroom bill" affect businesses' ability to bring talent and opportunity to Texas? How are companies adjusting to the lack of concrete immigration policies?
