Concordia Choir travels across 8 states in only three weeks

The Concordia Choir from Concordia College in Minnesota performs in San Antonio at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (502 East Nueva Street). The concert is part of the choir’s 2013 tour, which includes performances across eight different states: Des Moines, Kansas City, Fort Smith, Houston, Oklahoma City, Sioux Falls, and Minneapolis.

We're doing a little feature in our program on her because she was born and raised in Houston, where it is summer most of the time, and then came up here to experience the tundra during the winter season! - Rene Clausen about chorister Maya Gastone

Dr. Rene Clausen conducts the 76-voice a cappella choir and recently spoke to John Clare about the tour. "It's really a thrill every night to be able to share our program with a different audience in different parts of the country!" she said.

John Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania.
