Dare To Listen: How Is San Antonio Handling Population Growth & Gentrification?

Jul 3, 2018

San Antonio area is currently home to more than 1.5 million residents and an average of 66 people are moving to the metro area each day, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau statistics.

The City of San Antonio is projecting that about 1 million people will be added to the local population by 2040.

How are local entities preparing and in what ways are residents – San Antonio natives, commuters and new transplants – adjusting to the changes in livelihood?

What is gentrification and how are different parts of the city being affected?

How has affordable housing in the area changed over the years? What is the impact of growth on San Antonio's neighborhoods?

The "Dare To Listen: Growing Pains" discussion is a live event recorded on Wednesday, June 27 at the Whitley Theological Center.
