Drama, Flaco And Classical Music: Your Weekend's Here!

The Weekend's upon us, and as usual, we have some ideas on how you can enjoy it more. First off, if you haven't been to a play recently, Andy Thornton says you should come see this one.

"The play is about a married couple. They've been married 30 years. And Jack, the husband, comes home from work and tells his wife he's leaving her," he says.

The ClassicTheatre's tackled the highly acclaimed Marriage Play, by Edward Albee.

"And they pretty much run the gamut as Albee does. There's a lot of humor in it, there's a lot of kind of cutting sarcasm, a lot of verbal wordplay, a lot of love and a lot of sadness."

Here's when you can catch Marriage Play at the Classic Theatre, right next to the Woodlawn.

"Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. until the 23rd of the month," he says.

Conjunto HeritageTaller--Rodolpho Lopez says they keep Conjunto going in a neat way.

"What we do is we teach accordion and bajo sexto in order to keep our traditional conjunto music alive. It doesn't stay alive by itself," Lopez says.

And on Saturday they're putting on their annual Tardeada. Starting at 6 p.m. with performances by their students, then performances by the teachers.

"And then the event will be highlighted by Flaco Jimenez and Max Baca," Lopez says.

That's multi-grammy winner Flaco Jimenez, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at La Villita. Then on Sunday at Canyon High School.

"She plays with every ounce of her fiber!"

Mid-Texas Symphony's CJ Washington talking about guest cellist Christine Lamprea.

"This cello is literally going to come to life for you," Washington says.

The venue's right on I-35 there in New Braunfels.

"It has a really wonderful acoustic sound...there are no bad seats in this house," Washington says.
