If you’re looking to stoke your holiday spirit, these should do it. They're called Midday Noels, and they happen this and next Thursday.

“[It’s] a way to give folks a way to hear short concerts in the middle of their day, especially for folks who are on a lunch break downtown.”
You can walk over to the church at noon and get a great big dose of live Christmas music.
“Right. Absolutely free concerts. And the concerts are a wonderful blend of sacred pieces but also some secular pieces too that you’ll recognize, in a great variety of styles.”
It being lunchtime, they offer a $3 sack lunch you can take back to work, or an $8 hot meal served afterward right there.
“Our next concert, Thursday, Dec. 11, will be Dixieland Jazz. A group of guys, some of whom moved here after Hurricane Katrina, are going to perform music very much in the style of a music procession down the street. And then our final concert on Dec. 18 is our own Dr. Jae Ha, an absolutely magnificent organist. [He] is going to be playing orchestral music, but he’s transcribed all of those pieces for the organ.”
A neat break from a hectic workday.
