How Can Texas Train More Effective Teachers?

Teachers in the public school system have the power and opportunity to change lives, but are they getting the training and support that they need?

Texas' growing population has prompted a shortage in educators, with only 340,000 teachers for 5.4 million students, according to an Educate Texas report.

Texas Teacher Preparation Collaborative has the goal of putting more well-equipped and prepared teachers in the classroom by issuing recommendations on how to improve research, data gathering and competency-based certification statewide.
