If You're Looking For A Job That's Magik, You Just May Have Found It

The Magik Theatre
Magik Theatre

One of the city’s iconic arts venues is growing.

“We will be actually not only looking for performers, but also for some technical personnel and artists.”

Beth Graham is the Magik Theatre's Marketing Specialist. The Magik focuses on children, linking theatre and literature together. And now, they’re growing.

“We are expanding. We want to open it up to, invite the community to come in and check out what we have available for job opportunities.”

You want to lay out some of those?

“We have performing, obviously. Actors, singers, dancers. And we do ask folks to come prepared for a short audition to show off their skills. And on the technical side, we’re looking for soundboard operators, carpenters, and an Assistant Tech Director, with a strong background in sound-operating a soundboard, and sound-design, for performances. We are also looking for a pianist.”

Also too is an expansion into having productions that cater a little more to special needs audiences.

“We are also going to be starting a sensory-friendly performance that is targeted toward audiences that are on the autism spectrum.”

If you’re interested in the jobs, auditions are at the theater.

“The day and time is Sunday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m. ‘til 12 noon, here at the theatre, at 420 South Alamo.”

We have more here.
