San Antonio Congressman Joaquin Castrolast month traveled to Japan to meet with Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy regarding Japan’s investment in the U.S., and particularly in San Antonio and Texas.
TPR's Eileen Pace spoke with the Congressman last week about Japan’s foreign direct investment in Texas, and the first U.S.-Japan Caucus that he started in 2013 to build our relationship with Japan. He talked about the reasons the Japanese economy is investing abroad, their bullet-train design, and some of the political issues regarding military alliances.
Castro said the goals of the caucus are not only to increase investment, but to develop and nurture the cultural relationship between our two countries.
