Roy Orbison at 70

Sunday, April 23 2006 marks the 70th anniversary of the birth of Roy Orbison.  He was born in Vernon, Texas, in 1936, and went on to become one of the most iconic singers and songwriters in America before passing away too early in 1988.  A petition to have his likeness emblazoned on a U.S. postage stamp is online at royorbison.com, a new compilation of the "Essential RoyOrbison" has just been released on compact disc, and this month, the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland opened a major exhibition dedicated to the sunglasses-wearing superstar.  Texas Public Radio's Nathan Cone spoke with Orbison Records Vice President Jed Hilly about Orbison's life and music.
