SA2020: Efficient, Effective Transportation Is Critical To Many Areas Of San Antonio Life

Feb 21, 2018

Local nonprofit SA2020 tracks the city's progress in various cause areas to improve conditions within San Antonio communities.

Targeting eleven cause areas, its latest report uses local data to measure whether goals have been met or are on track to be met by 2020. Of the 61 primary indicators, 70 percent are seeing progress, according to SA2020.

The organization and their data partners CI:Now also look at the status of guidelines that are not seeing progress or may be getting worse.

This fourth episode of "The Source" SA2020 impact report series focuses on transportation.

Managing traffic flow, building reliable infrastructure, and funding accessible transit systems are common grievances in any major city, especially a growing municipality like San Antonio.

How can residents be encouraged to use alternative transportation and reduce the number of miles traveled in their personal vehicles?

Can daily commutes be shorter and less stressful? In what ways can the public help ensure safety on San Antonio's sidewalks, streets and highways?
