San Antonio Symphony Returns To KPAC July 26

Experience the beauty and drama of live and local classical music on KPAC 88.3 FM beginning Saturday, July 26, as Texas Public Radio presents the very best of the San Antonio Symphony's 2013–2014 artistic season with a handpicked selection of concerts. Relive these world-class performances or experience them for the first time on both KPAC 88.3 FM in San Antonio and on KTXI 90.1 FM in the Hill Country, Saturday evenings at 7 p.m.

The season opens on July 26 with a 75th anniversary concert featuring violinist Joshua Bell, and a program that mirrors the very first San Antonio Symphony concert, back in the summer of 1939. That show was performed at the Sunken Garden Theater—thankfully, the San Antonio Symphony has enjoyed the air-conditioned comfort of the Majestic Theater for many years, and in the fall of 2014, the orchestra moves to their new home, the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

Returning for the fouth year, host Ricardo Chavira, known for ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and USA Network’s “Burn Notice,” partners with TPR to raise awareness about San Antonio’s classical music community and to extend the reach of TPR’s classical music offerings to a wide and diverse audience.

Join us Saturday nights at 7:00 for nine weeks of great orchestral performances from your San Antonio Symphony!
