Snapshot of San Antonio Weekend Events

Any given weekend is full of events in San Antonio; here are a few things that spring break families might consider for the March 13-15 weekend. 

La Villita downtown will be awash with culture from India. Saturday’s India Festival is a free event that runs from two in the afternoon ‘til 8.  Dance, music, food and more will fill Maverick Plaza.

Also on Saturday evening, Ballet San Antonio’s Ballet in the Park free event. Food trucks will ring Travis Park as Ballet is performed right in front of the St. Anthony Hotel.

There’s a free movie on tap at the San Antonio Botanical Center—"Fed Up"—the unflinching documentary about America’s obesity epidemic and its relationship to fast food, plays at 7:45 Friday night at the Center’s Funston street facility.

Thiry Auditorium at Our Lady of the Lake University will be brimming with music and movement on Saturday. The 57th Annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival concert goes from 7:30 to 10:30. Tickets run $5 to $15 for this event showcasing a wide array of folk dancing.

And the San Antonio River turns green on Saturday as the Harp and Shamrock Society presents the St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival. It’s free, and it’s at the Arneson River Theater from noon ‘til 6PM. Food, music and all things Irish on Saturday.
