Texas's Biggest Stories of 2014

2014 was a wild year for Texas.

Tens of thousands of immigrant children crossed our southern border this spring.

Former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro departed for Washington D.C. this summer, to take over as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development; with his departure, streetcar funding was pulled,  and a democratic dance for elected offices was kicked off.

Ebola touched down in Dallas this fall when the late Thomas Eric Duncan, walked into Texas Presbyterian Hospital, and kicked off some of the nations worst fears, warranted or unwarranted.

Then this winter's plummeting oil prices, falling almost 50 percent from the June peak, had Texans thinking back to the oil bust of the '80s--which may be what 2015 brings to the state, setting up new Governor Greg Abbott for an interesting first year.

In between these headline grabbers were several other big stories and hundreds of smaller ones that might have warranted more coverage.

What do you think was the big story for San Antonio or Texas? What story did you wish would have been better covered?
