The Source: Big Changes Coming To Southtown's Lone Star Brewery

Abig developmentis coming to the site of the old Lone Star Brewery. Boasting tens of thousands of square feet of retail and mixed use space, the hope for owners is it will bring life back to the degenerating brewery that closed in the 1990s.

The project is a co-venture between Aqualand Development and CBL & Associates Properties.

The site has changed ownership with development plans at least three times in the past 25 years already, but this time things are different says the owners. With many of the hurdles behind them and two major retailers already signed on - Cinemark Theaters and Punch Bowl Social - the project is on track to redefine the site.

Locals hope that it doesn't redefine the area though. Callers wanted to know among other things how these owners will deal with traffic patterns that will change and grow.
