Phase one of the $41.7 million East Meadows residential development, previously the location of Wheatley Courts public-housing complex, was officially unveiled on October 13 as part of ongoing efforts to bring life back to San Antonio's East Side.
Backed by a combined $54.3 million in grants from HUD and the U.S. Department of Education, East Meadows is considered a big step in urban renewal for this long-neglected part of the city.
