The Source: New Data On Police-Involved Shootings In Texas

Texas Tribune

How often do law enforcement officers in Texas shoot at people?

The answer - we don't know. No one knows.

No one is requiring collection, and so no one is collecting the data from the numerous individual law enforcement entities across the state of Texas.

But the Texas Tribune spent a year digging into what information is available and came us with some startling information.

The online project is called "Unholstered" and we are joined by one of the data journalists behind the project.
