Is it a fantasy to say that fantasy sports betting is not gambling?
A Frontline investigation looks into the dark side of online gambling and fantasy sports. There are winners and losers - laws and loopholes. Texas has already said it's illegal gambling but it's still game-on.
Online betting as an industry went down a similar path. It was huge. It was regulated and banned in some places. The model crashed. But, it is still alive and kicking illegally in states where it ought not be. Websites registered in remote countries are actually hosted on servers across the U.S. in violation of state laws.
What's next for fantasy sports in the country and across Texas? And can it really be kept out as a practical matter?
