The Source: Presidential Campaign History Has No Shortage Of Good Stories

How unique is the Trump Candidacy? Less than you might think. This country has a presidential election every four years after all, and there are no shortage of characters in the 240 year history of the United States.

How people run for the highest office has changed dramatically in both substantive and technological terms, for instance according to the new book "Whistlestop: My Favorite Stories From Presidential Campaign History" Andrew Jackson was the first president to campaign actively saying he wanted to be president. Reagan beat Ford in the Texas primary because of a pesky San Antonio Tamale.

Things large and small can affect the race for the Presidency, journalist and author John Dickerson tells us some of his favorites.
