The Source: San Antonio Schools & The EN Three-Part Series On Military Sexual Trauma
In the first segment:
An annual report from Children At Risk, a Houston-based nonprofit and advocacy group, focused on public schools in Texas and found that while other major cities were seeing improvements in a variety of metrics, several of San Antonio's school districts were not measuring up.
- Take a look at the study online at: childrenatrisk.org/research-data/school-rankings
What isn't working at these districts and how can they improve? We talk to Children at Risk CEO Dr. Bob Sanborn about the issues facing public schools in the state.
In the second segment:
The San Antonio Express News just published a three-part series on sexual assault in the military called "Twice Betrayed," exploring how women were systematically silenced, intimidated, and re-traumatized.
Writer Karisa King and editor David Shepard join us to talk about the project.
- Articles in this series are available at the new www.expressnews.com.
*The Source airs at 3 p.m. on KSTX 89.1 FM - audio from this show will be posted by 5:30 p.m.
