Climate Change, space exploration, and maintaining economic dominance through technological innovation, with so many science-related issues facing the United States how well versed should the president be in core sciences?

A movement to make science the center of any presidential run has been gaining momentum for years. The people at Sciencedebate.orgwant at least one of the few presidential debates to be solely about science.

As science struggles to command the respect it once held over the U.S. and the gap between what scientists believe and what the general population believes on issues such as genetically modified foods, climate change, overpopulation, grows, would a science debate help to resecure this vital topic of concern?
