The Source: UTSA Takes On Student Health Concerns

Young leaders at the University of Texas at San Antonio are bringing support to wellness efforts on campus. The Student Health Advisory Committee, which plans to bring more mental, physical and nutritional help to students, is a new initiative under UTSA's Student Government Association.

  • Melina Acosta is a senior psychology major and president of the UTSA chapter of the national mental health awareness organization Active Minds. She is director of the Student Health Advisory Committee under the Student Government Association.
  • Alwyn Mathew is a junior at UT San Antonio majoring in public health.  He is director of the Student Health Advisory Committee and president of the Public Health Student Association.
  • Rebecca Conejo is a senior English major at UTSA from Baytown, Texas.
