The Source: What Ferguson Can Tell Us About Policing And Crime

The decision to not indict now former Ferguson police officer, Darren Wilson, and the protests and riots that followed have filled the airwaves and tv screens across the country.

The looming problem of racial bias in policing, what it means and whether or not even exists are all being debated in the American media and beyond. 

Questions about how to address police use of deadly force have brought a variety of ideas. President Obama is calling for $263 million to outfit tens of thousands of cops with body cameras.  Others have advocated for a new mode of evaluating police shootings and their subsequent investigations.

What changes do we need to address systemically to make law enforcement work in all communities, especially those of color?
