TPR Listeners Enjoy The Sights And Sounds Of The Hill Country

On Friday, June 21, Texas Public Radio's Hill Country listeners came out to enjoy an evening of classical music and community at SchreinerUniversity's Dietert Auditorium in Kerrville.

A contingent of San Antonio classical music fans also made the drive to enjoy the programming and some stayed to make it a weekend trip.

TPR members and listeners enjoyed the music provided by CamerataSan Antonio, guitarist Kevin McCormick and performers from the Hill Country Youth Orchestra.

At the dessert reception that followed, guests were able to take in the beautiful campus and weather while meeting TPR management, staff and TPR’s new Community Liaison, Mikie Baker.

Attendees Bernie and Eileen Block commented, "The performers were first rate and provided excellent entertainment." They added, "It was nice to see TPR staff faces and mingle with other TPR listeners."

Carin Lamontagne joined the Texas Public Radio team in October 2012. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in 1996 with a B.A. in history, and she also studied anthropology and vocal music performance.
