You Can See Jane Sing In San Antonio

An actor who's became a huge star of movies and television is now bringing a different talent to the San Antonio stage.

You may know Jane Lynch from her time as the tough-talking coach on Glee. But she displayed none of that when we spoke over the phone about her See Jane Sing tour coming to the Empire Theatre on Sunday. Turns out she was here just recently.

"I was in San Antonio; my nephew was married there. And it's a great town, and that theater was amazing. We're really looking forward to coming your way."

As to how the tour came about, while acting in a Broadway production of Annie, Lynch was challenged by contemporaries to work up a cabaret-style show.

"So I said, 'I take your challenge,' and called my friend Kate Flannery and she said 'yes,' and we got ourselves a fantastic band."

Kate Flannery was the often bizarre, deadpan redhead on TV's The Office. But she's got more tricks up her sleeve than shown in that role.

"Yeah, she's an amazing singer, too. And she is inappropriately stealing focus from me the entire time and everybody's going to love her."

The show's reviews have been quite kind and no one can accuse her of not enjoying herself.

"It's been a blast.  And we're really blowing it out like rock stars, and we're really looking forward to coming your way and doing the show for you."
