San Antonio-area families will once again open their homes to airmen and trainees at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland through Operation Home Cooking. The program encourages local families to invite the GIs home for a Thanksgiving meal. Last year, local residents hosted more than 3,400 Air Force members. Requests for the airmen and trainees can be made starting on Monday. To request an airman or trainee call 210-671-5453 or 210-671-3701. Requests can be made from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays beginning on Monday, Oct. 31.
