The holiday weekend promises a lot of music and dance. First off, let's head north to one of the area's most unusual places to hear music. Here's what one musician says about this venue.
"I can never really state with enough excitement how cool the acoustic is."
The musician is Axiom Quartet's Patrick Moore and he's talking about the concert they're giving Saturday night at Boerne's Cave Without a Name.
"I like to call it...it's like a warm blanket."
The Axiom features two violins, a viola and Patrick's cello. The program is classically inclined but interestingly, features a song each by Taylor Swift and the Cranberries.
"It's just really incredible, evocative music."
Then on Sunday head to Southtown.
"This town has a lot of swing, and anyone that wants to can be a part of it."
Rolando Almaraz is talking about Swing Dancing at the Brick at Blue Star. Don't know how to swing dance? Almaraz says that's not a problem.
"We're doing an introductory lesson. We just want to get people out there and enjoying great music."
It's a family event, and those swing dance lessons start at 5:30 at Southtown's epicenter of culture. So what's it cost? About ten cents shy of one thin dime.
"This is a free event for everyone!"
Then on Monday--Echale!
"It's a music series that features Latin talent from all over the U.S. and Latin America."
Elizabeth Faeruso works at the Pearl, where the free event is being held.
"This Echale is the first time we're doing an all-female, all Latina lineup. We're bringing in a group called Mariachi Flor de Toloache. They won a Grammy in 2015."
Appearing from San Antonio are Mariachi Las Altenas, and Nina Diaz.
