Edwards Aquifer Authority Declares Stage Three Restrictions

With the lack of rain and the summer heat beating down the area, the Edwards Aquifer Authority is declaring Stage 3 pumping restrictions. It's only the second time that the EAA has declared Stage 3 for users of the San Antonio pool of the Edward Aquifer. The first time was last summer, from August 15th to September 15th.

This year, the EAA is calling for Stage 3 two weeks earlier than last year.

Aquifer Authority Creates Stage 5 Pumping Restrictions

The Uvalde Pool (red) has been moved to Stage 4 pumping restrictions while the San Antonio Pool is at Stage 2.

  As the Texas Drought continues, the Edwards Aquifer Authority has issued a new stage of pumping restrictions for entities like SAWS and others who draw from the aquifer.

The new Stage 5 restrictions will control how much water is pumped from the Edwards Aquifer during times of extreme drought.
