When the Heart of Texas Concert Band (HOTCB) performs this weekend, they will add an element for the very first time in the ensemble's history: a choir. Band and choir works are more rare than orchestral accompaniment, but Mark Rogers has done some searching and arranging.
"Nancy Oehlert approached me about collaborating with the Encore Youth Chorus, and I thought it was a natural fit, and immediately thought of the holidays," says conductor Mark Rogers.

Join First Presbyterian Church in the sanctuary for their last mini-concert of the annual "Midday Noel," called Singing the Season. The First Presbyterian Choir Chamber Singers will present a concert of Christmas music from around the world.
Holiday music is a tradition for many different kinds of people, crossing race, faith and style lines. Sounds of the season vary with groups, but are also a tradition for many directors and ensembles.
"There is a lot of really good repertoire out there for this time of the year, and if it is not for women's voices, we make it that way!"
