Bexar County Sheriffs Office

A judge has issued a temporary restraining order against outgoing Bexar County Sheriff Susan Pamerleau.

Bexar County taxpayers are spending millions of dollars each year to house immigrants in the county jail.  County commissioners and the sheriff want the federal government to better reimburse local taxpayers who are picking up the bill.

Election 2016 will be one for the history books.  The wild and tumultuous presidential contest has resulted in a surge of new voter registrations.  Down ballot candidates are trying to factor-in the impact of the Clinton-Trump matchup on their races.

A Mexican immigrant, who was being held at the Bexar County Jail, is suing the sheriff.  He claims his federal rights were violated because he was held for a long time without being officially charged.  The case raises questions on the authority local law enforcement has in detaining immigrants who have entered the country illegally.
