San Antonio Gas Prices Jump 40 Cents In The Last Month

If you have had sticker shock at your neighborhood gas station then you are not alone. Gas prices in San Antonio have leaped nearly 14 cents in the past seven days according to Gasbuddy.com.

A week ago the average unleaded gas price was about $3.36, but now it sits just under $3.50.

Higher Gas Prices Mean Good News And Bad News

The hike in gas prices is one of the "fastest increases so early in the year that we've seen."

The bad news is that average prices for gasoline shot up over the last week by almost 15 cents per gallon in Texas and nationally.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan works for GasBuddy -- an application and website that allows users to post gas prices -- and said the steep hike in wholesale gas prices may also have been spawned by higher oil prices, but he believes the increase could also be related to a general uptick in the economy.
