Cuts Force GenTX To Dissolve, But Vision Lives On For Bexar County High Schoolers

With the economic recovery still in progress, agencies around the country are prioritizing where their dollars are going, and some important nonprofits are missing out on funding.

Such is the case for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, which pulled about $200,000 in funding from Generation TX San Antonio, a college readiness and resource center for first generation college students.

High School Students Get A Taste Of College Life

Summer break is still in full swing, but for the 136 area high school students participating in Camp GenTX, their vacation still involves learning.

The students moved into the dorms at Trinity University on Monday morning, ready for a three-day college experience of eating in the dining halls, hearing lectures, and walking around on campus.
