46 Arrested On Southside In Human Trafficking, Prostitution Sting

Local law enforcement officials today announced a human trafficking round-up that netted 46 suspects.

Bexar Co. Sheriff Susan Pamerleau, joined by Dept. of Homeland Security Special Agent In-Charge Vincent Iglio, State Senator Leticia Van de Putte, the district attorney and representatives from SAPD, announced the results of a sting operation Jan. 11 on the Southside of San Antonio.

Driver's License Mega Center May Reduce Wait Times

Most of us have had or know someone who’s had the experience of standing in a long line – sometimes up to two hours – to apply for a new driver’s license or take a new photo.

Now, officials at the Texas Department of Public Safety are promising shorter lines for those and other services at their new "Mega Center" in Leon Valley, which opened on Friday, January 18.

The DPS Driver’s License Mega Center is the state’s answer to long lines in six locations, including Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, two in Houston, and San Antonio.

Travelers Can Speed Through San Antonio Airport With Global Entry

San Antonio International Airport is now an enrollment site for Global Entry, which allows passengers from international flights to be processed through Customs faster. 

The new, one-stop service opened January 11.

San Antonio got the designation from U.S. Customs and Border Protection after its Global Entry kiosks installed last August were a hit.

Will Texas Allow Liquor Sales On Sundays?

Grocery stores cannot sell alcoholic beverages before noon on Sundays, the proposed bill would allow liquor stores the same privilege.

A bill filed by State Rep. Senfronia Thompson (D) of Houston would allow liquor stores to join its supermarket brethren in allowing alcohol sales after 12 p.m. Liquor stores across Texas must lock their doors on Sundays, and grocery stores cannot sell alcohol before noon.
