Visit Seven Cultural Institutions With One Pass On 'Broadway Reach'

McNay Art Museum is just one of the seven stops on the 'Broadway Reach' tour.

Seven institutions along the Broadway corridor have created a collaborative to showcase the art, culture and history available in a tightly-knit area north of downtown.  

The multi-level effort was first brainstormed during SA 2020 meetings almost three years ago.

"Well, we’ve been working together for a number of years, meeting and talking about how we could work together more effectively," said Dr. William Chiego, director of the McNay Art Museum.

The Royal Coronation with Sir Roy Strong

A leading expert in royal festivals and celebrations, Sir Roy Strong is an art historian, broadcaster, diarist, gardener, and writer, who has served as director of the National Portrait Gallery (1967–1973) and Victoria and Albert Museum (1974–1987), both in London. His talk focuses on the evolution of coronations in recent yearsand coincides with the exhibit fiesta, fete, festival.

SOLI Is Surreal For McNay Exhibit

While SOLI Chamber Ensemble typically performs 10 to 12 times a season on their subscription series, this year has allowed audiences to hear them a few more times in special settings. This weekend the modern quartet, recognized in January by ASCAP for their adventurous programming, collaborates with the McNay Art Museum for a program called SO(LI) Surreal, based on their visiting Whitney Art Museum exhibit Real/Surreal
