Texas Public Radio celebrates the season this month with programming to get you into the spirit.

On KPAC 88.3 FM, holiday music will be broadcast throughout the day on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Beginning at 3 p.m. on KPAC 88.3 FM, we'll broadcast "A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols." The annual Christmas Eve service held in King's College Chapel was introduced in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. It was first broadcast in 1928 and is now broadcast to millions of people around the world.

In what may be TPR’s oddest holiday tradition, Peabo the rooster returns to the airwaves for his fifteenth annual special on Christmas Eve. Beginning at 11 p.m. on KSTX 89.1 FM, Peabo will be joined by TPR’s Nathan Cone and longtime friend David Furst for an hour of music and merrymaking as they count down to Santa’s arrival at midnight.

KSTX's most unusual holiday tradition continues this year with "Peabo's Christmas Holiday," hosted by Nathan Cone, David Furst, and Peabo, the unofficial Texas Public Radio mascot.

On Wednesday, April 5, a red carpet gala was held to open the "Terra Nostra: Solamente Salma" exhibit at the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center.  On hand for the festivities were artists George Yepes, Robert Rodriguez, a few celebrities... and Texas Public Radio's Nathan Cone, who had a grand plan to cover the event and get some audio for a personal project he's working on.  The exhibit is open to the public.  The Blue Star Contemporary Art Center is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.  For more information, the number is 210-227-6960.
