Coming Soon: Public Radio for The Big Country

Texas Public Radio to Launch News and Talk Station at 89.9 FM

Texas Public Radio (TPR) is excited to announce it will soon be able to provide public radio service to the Texas Big Country. Broadcasting from Snyder, the new non-profit FM station will reach Sweetwater, Colorado City, Big Spring, and surrounding areas which are presently out of range of other public radio providers. This is the first major expansion for Texas Public Radio’s services since the debut of KTXI 90.1 FM in the Texas Hill Country in 1998.

KPAC 88.3 FM Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Texas Public Radio celebrates a milestone this month. On November 7, 1982, KPAC signed on for the first time, broadcasting classical music 24 hours a day to San Antonio. Thanks to the vision and determination of Wilford Stapp, J.C. Stromberger, B.J. McClain and countless other heroes of classical music, the groundwork was laid for Texas Public Radio as it exists today, broadcasting NPR News and classical music programming to San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.
