Comal County Switching To A New Alert System

Comal County is transitioning to a new emergency alert system, and all county residents are encouraged to sign up to receive text, email and/or voice alerts based on their home address.

Comal County is part of the 911 system overseen by Bexar Metro 911, which is transitioning from a system called Geocast to one called Everbridge.

Anyone who registered on the old system should register again by visiting MyComalCounty.com/Reverse911.

Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Kelley says Reverse-911 is the primary tool for letting people know when there’s an emergency in the area.

The change affects thousands of Comal County phone numbers currently in the Geocast system.
