A plane crash near Stinson Airport left one dead and two injured on Saturday morning.
According to the spokesperson with the Federal Aviation Administration, three people were aboard the single-engine Piper PA-28 when it crashed soon after takeoff around 9 a.m.
The plane crashed in the backyard of a home in the 9400 block of Espada Road and burned on impact.
Police, fire and EMS units were at the scene for several hours after the incident.
A San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that one person is dead and two persons were taken to the hospital with severe burns.
Officials with the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the crash.
