Fun Stuff For The Weekend

As South Texas dries out and the weekend looms I've been checking out what’s happening.  First, a San Antonio Symphony stop at the Tobin Center where symphony President David Gross tells us what to expect on Friday and Saturday nights.

"We will be featuring the music of Grieg and the music of RimskyKorsakov.  The Grieg, it will be Peer Gynt, suites number one and two. And the RimskyKorsakov will be his great Sheherazade."

“Sounds like an exotic night of music” I said.

"It’s a wonderful collection of music, and what better way to end our season?"

Next we move up I-10 to Kerrville for the last weekend of the Kerrville Folk Festival. Peter Yarrow and Joe King Carrasco tonight, and Saturday probably the biggest name in recent Kerrville history, David Crosby.
They’ll feature outdoor concerts tonight through Sunday, then it’s done.  Back to San Antonio to the brand new Doseum. Here’s Christina Noriega.

“Our kids deserve the best, and they’re going to get the best with this.”

I had to add "And unlike a lot of Museums kids are encouraged—to touch!”

“To touch! To touch! Exactly. That’s in fact why we call it the Doseum because you have to do something.”

Call ahead for specific visiting times on opening weekend; it’s going to be crowded.
