Hand-Made Holiday From The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center will host its traditional holiday festival soon.  It’s called Hecho a Mano, and for a good reason. Everything there is...

“Made by hand.”

That’s Haydee Munoz from the Guadalupe. And yes, everything’s made by hand.

“Hecho a Mano is a three-day festival that offers fine art and handicraft artisan items by local and general artists. It’s a mixture between crafts, fine artists, we have jewelry designers, we have wood carving, we have a little bit of everything.”

The three-day event is actually a two-tiered one — the Friday event, then the Saturday/Sunday one.

“We will have a preview reception on Friday, Dec. 5 from 6-9 p.m. We’re going to have some food and drinks that day. The tickets are $10. And then, on Saturday and Sunday, we will have food and drinks, but it will be $2 to get in, or two cans of food that will be donated to the food bank.”

How many artists exhibit?

“Right now I’d say 40, 50.”

Is this a good-for-the-whole-family kind of event?

“Yes…it’s free for kids.”

We’ve more on Hecho a Mano here.
