From local theater to a guided bike ride of the city's murals to a rocking Christmas, being bored this holiday weekend just isn't an option.
First off, you might consider heading to the Woodlawn Theatre for a family production.
"The musical is based on the classic movie starring Dick Van Dyke," director Chris Rodriguez said.

That classic movie is "ChittyChitty Bang Bang." Yes, the one with that enchanted car.
"Besides being a full-scale musical with big production numbers, the big challenge of the show is that it centers around a magical car,” he said. “So the car in the show flies. It floats on water."
Not any creation of the prop room can do that, he added. Rodriguez had to go to great lengths to find a car with those kinds of capabilities.
"We actually rented a car and had it shipped here. So the car is a replica of the car from the movie," Rodriguez said.
The family musical runs through Sunday.
"It's a perfect show for the holiday season," he added.
Mural Ride
Then Saturday morning, here's what Brian Benavidez does:
"I lead an average of maybe 30 to 60 cyclists throughout San Antonio and we look at all the street art that San Antonio has in the downtown area," he said.

It's called The Mural Ride, and you don't have to be an athlete to ride along, he said.
"I take them round about a 10-mile bike ride that probably lasts one and a half to two hours,” he said. “I'm giving as much history, or as much information, as I know about the artwork, who the artist is, where you can find more of their work."
Meetup is at 9:30 a.m. at Maverick Park on Broadway. Cost is free.
“Come on out and just have a really good time," he said.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Then, if you like your holidays to rock, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra hits the town Saturday. It’s playing both matinees and nighttime shows at the AT&T Center.

- A Symphony: Nightmare Before Christmas, which runs Friday and Saturday night at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.
- ARTS SA presents the Nutcracker, running Friday and Saturday, at the Lila Cockrell Theater.
- Magic Theatre's A Charlie Brown Christmas, which performs nightly through Dec. 30 at the Empire Theater.
- The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts plays host to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for four shows, beginning Friday night.
- Explore the San Antonio River Walk Lights after dark throughout the holiday season.
